We have extensive experience in helping clients navigate complex and contentious administrative litigation, having defended companies, individuals, State Governments and public sector entities in various courts.

On behalf of a Nigerian State Government, we defeated related actions for alleged violations of the Constitutional right to personal liberty. The trial court agreed with our submissions that genuine complaints to security agents to prevent the commission of a crime do not violate an individual’s fundamental rights.

We represented a public sector entity in proceedings alleging data security violations and a breach of the Constitutional right to privacy. The proceedings raised intricate questions concerning compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation. We argued successfully that the complaint did not disclose a data security breach as alleged.

A Nigerian State Government has retained us in proceedings under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI Act). The dispute raises interesting questions concerning the scope of the FOI Act’s application – specifically, where the Act limits its application to Federal (and not State) Government institutions.

A Nigerian State Government has retained us in proceedings under the Supreme Court’s originating jurisdiction. The appeal turns on the interpretation of Constitutional provisions relating to a question of fiscal federalism. The Supreme Court’s decision will determine questions concerning the Federal Government obligation to remit the proceeds of Stamp Duties to State Governments.

We represent a Nigerian State Government in proceedings challenging the State’s consumption tax Legislation. The proceedings will clarify the validity of State consumption tax laws in light of the Federal Value Added Tax Act.

A Nigerian political party has retained us in an appeal before the Supreme Court, which turns on the propriety of the electoral umpire’s deregistration of certain political parties while proceedings were pending. The appeal raises questions as to the scope of the Court of Appeal’s authority under its appellate jurisdiction.
